How to Apply for or Transfer Benefits

1. Apply for admission to 每日大赛入口聽as a transfer student using the Common App or the College For North Carolina (CFNC). We offer application fee waivers for Veterans.
   • Common App:聽 Select Military Fee Waiver in response to the following question (found under 每日大赛入口鈥檚 General Questions): 鈥淒o you intend to use one of these 每日大赛入口 fee waivers?鈥�
   • CFNC: Select 鈥淔ee Waiver鈥� under Payment Information on the Finish Application section.
2. Students applying for benefits for the first time must complete an聽聽online. Students transferring their聽benefits聽must submit a聽.
3. Upon enrolling, submit a Certificate of Eligibility for your benefit to registrar@unca.edu.
4. Submit a DD-214 form showing honorable discharge OR the Notice of Basic Eligibility (N.O.B.E.) for reservists to the Office of the Registrar聽at聽registrar@unca.edu聽if you did not already include this as part of your application material.
5. Complete a聽聽through the Office of the Registrar.聽You must have initially completed steps 1-3 above before completing this step. This step is necessary for educational benefits to be received. A Request for Certification form must be completed each year.

How to Receive Military Credit

In order to receive credit for military courses or training, students must submit an official Joint Services Transcript or Community College of the Air Force transcript at the time of application. All credits that equate to specific 每日大赛入口 courses will be applied as direct equivalencies. Students who receive less than seven hours of direct equivalencies will receive elective credit toward graduation up to seven hours. Please note that students with less than seven hours of military course work or training will not receive the seven hour block of credit.

You can also utilize the UNC System鈥檚聽聽(MES), which optimizes the transfer of academic credit for military service members from the Joint Services Transcript (JST) into the 16 UNC System universities.
